  • Judging Criteria Useful! Not useful!

    Teams will be judged by the following criteria: Product innovation - Is your concept/prototype new or novel? Product Viability – Can this product be built with existing technology? Problem/Solution Validation – Does your prototype solve a problem or need for a certain customer segment? Prove that people will buy or use your prototype. Customers – Did you get anyone to commit to purchasing your prototype over the weekend? The panel of judges consist of an entrepreneur, investors & engineers.

  • Team Sizes and Rules. Useful! Not useful!

    You are allowed to come with your own team (be sure not to work on your prototype before the weekend) or pitch an idea at the event to recruit and build your team there (or join a team). Recommended team sizes are 5-10 individuals with at least two hardware engineers or hackers per team. We are expecting 10 teams of 5-10.

  • What do the Winners Get? Useful! Not useful!

    The top 3 teams will win a prize. The first place team brings home consulting and production for a crowdfunding campaign (similar to those you find on Kickstarter), a website, PR campaign, mentorship from corporate leaders and a meeting with Gener8tor (an accelerator program that invests $20K in new businesses).

  • How do you define "prototype" Useful! Not useful!

    In this case, a prototype can be defined as a simple CAD drawing, physical prototype or a concept you build out throughout the weekend.
